Cherry Blossom Festival!

The Pinkest Party on Earth! March 16-25th, 2012 in Macon, GA!  Go to the Cherry Blossom Website address at for more information.

I’ve personally been to several events at the Cherry Blossom Festival and it proves to be a great time! Check it out this year!

Rates are low!!!

“30 year mortgage rates average 3.87% for the 3rd week in a row.  Thats the lowest 30 year mortgage rates since the 1950’s, when long term rates became popular”.

If you are looking to purchase a home, don’t wait!  Now is the time to purchase and take advantage of these low mortgage rates.   Spring is around the corner and there are plenty of homes on the market.  Start looking for that perfect home now and you will be glad you did!

Preparing Your Home For Sale

First things first…make it super clean!  When you are trying to sale a product, you want it to be the best product out there!  Make sure your home shines from top to bottom!  Next, clear the clutter and simplify.  You may need to get rid of some furniture to make your rooms look larger.  Third, landscape and check gutters.  If its the right season, plant some pretty flowers to invite your buyers in.  Lastly, add nice touches.  Coordinate colors inside your home and put out a few key pieces that draw attention.  Make sure to keep lamps on during showings and set an inviting mood with light music.

Stage a Kitchen to Sell!

Put extras away!  Its best to remove all extra items from your counter tops when trying to promote your kitchen.  A maximum of 3 appliances is a good start. The goal is to make your kitchen look as big as possible.  Also, if your kitchen has an island, make it a focal point!  Dress it up with greenery or fresh fruit.  Add color to the counters in the form of canisters or a decorative bowl/pitcher. Lastly, remove all pictures and notes from your refrigerator door.  Remember…clean and roomy!

Home Sales Show Upward Trend

Existing-home sales continued on an uptrend in December, rising for three consecutive months and remaining above a year ago, according to the National Association of Realtors®.

The latest monthly data shows total existing-home sales1 rose 5.0 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.61 million in December from a downwardly revised 4.39 million in November, and are 3.6 percent higher than the 4.45 million-unit level in December 2010. The estimates are based on completed transactions from multiple listing services that include single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops.

Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, said these are early signs of what may be a sustained recovery. “The pattern of home sales in recent months demonstrates a market in recovery,” he said. “Record low mortgage interest rates, job growth and bargain home prices are giving more consumers the confidence they need to enter the market.”
